A Reflection in the Mirror
Sarah, a young believer working in a corporate environment, faced this challenge. Her colleagues thrived on office gossip, unethical shortcuts, and self-promotion. - Stop trying to blend in. The world will never approve of a life that convicts it (John 15:18-19).
- Make decisions that reflect your faith, even when it’s inconvenient.
- Guard your mind, your speech, and your relationships. What you allow in will shape what flows out.
Sarah decided she would no longer laugh at ungodly jokes or exaggerate her work achievements. It wasn’t easy, but each small decision reflected God’s nature.

2. Speak Truth—Even When It’s Unpopular
Paul stood in Athens, surrounded by idol worshippers, and boldly declared that God is not like silver or stone (Acts 17:29). Are we willing to do the same?
- Don’t shy away from sharing truth because of fear of rejection.
- Let your speech be seasoned with grace and truth (Colossians 4:6).
- The gospel is offensive to a sinful world, but it is also life-giving. Never water it down to make it more acceptable.
Sarah learned to speak truth in love, even when it made her uncomfortable. Instead of gossiping, she started steering conversations towards encouragement. Her colleagues noticed the change.
3. Endure Opposition with Faith
If you’re truly living out God’s nature, expect resistance. Jesus promised that His followers would face persecution (John 16:33). The question is, how will you respond?
- Don’t compromise under pressure. Stand firm in righteousness.
- Let the opposition push you closer to Christ, not further away.
- Remember: You don’t stand alone. God strengthens those who refuse to bow to the world’s ways.
One day, Sarah’s colleagues mocked her for refusing to lie in a report. But instead of retaliating, she responded with grace, knowing she was reflecting God’s nature.
4. Live in Such a Way That People See Christ in You
The most powerful testimony isn’t just in what we say but in how we live. People should encounter God’s nature when they encounter us.
- Do your actions reflect God’s love, integrity, and purity?
- Are you quick to forgive, generous in kindness, and unwavering in faith?
- Ask yourself daily: If I was the only Christian someone ever met, would they see Jesus?

- If it’s in your speech, let your words reflect grace and truth.

We were never meant to be hidden. Let the world see God’s nature in you. Remember, God provides the strength and grace to live distinctively.
