As believers, our walk with Christ is meant to be deeply rooted in love—His love surpasses all understanding, and our response to it in faith. When we are firmly planted in His love, we are positioned to receive the fullness of God in our lives. As we reflect on what it means to be Rooted in Love, Filled with Fullness this month, we journey through three essential steps to experiencing God’s complete presence and purpose: The Wound, The Wall, and The Way.

“To know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” (Ephesians 3:19, NKJV)

The fullness of God is not just a phrase—it’s an invitation to be rooted in Christ’s love and experience the richness of His grace, peace, and presence. This fullness is made accessible through Christ’s sacrifice and the power of the Holy Spirit. Reflecting on February’s theme, “Rooted in Love, Filled with Fullness,” we explore three pivotal steps to experiencing God’s fullness: The Wound, The Wall, and The Way.

Steps to Experience God’s Fullness

The Wound: Reconciliation Through Christ’s Blood

“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes, we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5, NKJV)

“But now in Christ Jesu,s you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.” (Ephesians 2:13, NKJV)

The journey to God’s fullness begins at the cross. Christ’s wounds reconciled humanity to God, redeeming us from sin and drawing us near to the Father. Without this ultimate sacrifice, we would remain distant, unable to experience His fullness.

Reflecting on Christ’s decision to bear our sins on the cross stirs gratitude and inspires us to extend His love to others. His sacrifice invites us to share the peace and joy we’ve received, living as vessels of His grace.

The Wall: Breaking Barriers to God’s Love

“For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation.” (Ephesians 2:14, NKJV)

Sin created a wall of separation between humanity and God—a barrier no human effort could destroy. This wall represented the distance created by disobedience, shame, and alienation from the Creator.

Through His sacrifice, Jesus tore down this wall, offering us peace and reconciliation. His death and resurrection provide access to the Father, bridging the divide and uniting us with Him.

Even though the wall of separation has been removed, many of us still hold on to internal barriers. These can include:

– Sin: Persistent habits or attitudes that distance us from God.
– Fear: The anxiety of being unworthy of God’s love.
– Doubt: Questioning God’s promises or His ability to work in our lives.
– Shame: Feeling unworthy because of past mistakes.

Christ invites us to lay these barriers at the foot of the cross. In surrendering them, we can step boldly into the freedom, peace, and fullness He provides.

Take a moment to reflect: What walls remain in your heart that keep you from fully embracing God’s love? Surrender them today and experience the freedom of being rooted in His grace.

The Way: Christ, the Bridge to the Father

“For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.” (Ephesians 2:18, NKJV)

Jesus is not only the way to the Father but also the bridge that connects us to Him. Like a physical bridge spans a divide, Jesus closed the gap between humanity and God, giving us access to His presence and transforming us through His Spirit.

Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 3 captures this beautifully:
“That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height—to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” (Ephesians 3:16-19, NKJV)

Living Rooted in Love and God’s Fullness

Living in God’s fullness means allowing His love to transform every aspect of your life. His fullness fills every void, strengthens every weakness, and empowers you to reflect His grace to the world. Paul’s prayer offers a roadmap for this transformation:

1. Be strengthened in your inner being through the Spirit.
2. Let Christ dwell in your heart through faith.
3. Be rooted and grounded in His love.
4. Comprehend the vastness of His love—its width, length, depth, and height.

God’s fullness is not meant for personal benefit alone; it is meant to overflow into the lives of others. When we are rooted in love, our actions reflect Christ’s compassion and grace, making us instruments of His peace in a broken world.

Take Steps to Embrace God’s Love and Fullness

This month, reflect on the barriers in your life that may keep you from fully experiencing God’s love. Surrender them at the foot of the cross, and allow Christ to draw you closer to the Father. Embrace His invitation to live in His fullness, rooted in His love and empowered by His Spirit.

Prayer of the Month: Focus on Love

“Lord, we thank You for the love of Christ that surpasses all knowledge. Fill us with the fullness of Your grace, peace, and purpose. Tear down every barrier that separates us from You, and draw us closer through Your Spirit. May we walk in Your love and share it abundantly with others. Amen.”
