Great Faith And Miracles

Great Faith And Miracles

Today’s WBL Devotional series is titled Great Faith And Miracles. Martha and Mary had lost their brother Lazarus and heard the news of Jesus’ arrival to mourn with her. Martha met Jesus and said, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask.” (John 11:21, 22 NIV).

She had great faith, and this great confidence was seen in Mary as well as she said the same words when she met Jesus. This great Faith moved Jesus to say, “Your brother will rise again.” (John 11:23 NIV).

There were certain Jews who had come to mourn with them, and when they saw Jesus weep, they began to murmur that Lazarus was his friend, and he couldn’t prevent his death but healed others of their blindness.

Great Faith And Miracles

As believers, we are daily faced with such words from friends and unbelievers, and some go to the extent of ridiculing the God we serve, but we are encouraged to remain firm.

Encouragement for Difficult Times:

Dear Reader, you may be going through a series of difficulties and problems. Your colleagues may be questioning you on the faithfulness and Omnipotence of GOD, but have great assurance that God’s ways are not that of man.

With great Faith, Pray to God to make all good things that are dead rise again and all your possessions submerged, resurface.

Lazarus was raised from the dead, and your own ‘Lazarus’ will rise again in Jesus’ name.

As pilgrims and strangers on a journey through this world, the fire and the storms will come, but we are assured in Isaiah 43:2,3 “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord your God….”

Unwavering Faith:

Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written. (John 21:25 NIV)

Peter saw Jesus walk on water and said unto Him, “Lord, if it’s you, tell me to come to you on the water.” (Matthew 14:28 NIV). Jesus asked him to come, and he began to walk towards Him, but the bible says when he saw the wind, he began to sink. He lost his faith!

Life Of Faith

Our Faith in God should be full. We can’t afford to have partial faith or faith without works because it has its consequences, as we find in the case of Peter.

The devil walks about like a roaring lion seeking whom to devour, and believers must always stay on guard. Any loopholes in our faith in God could halt the promises of God for our lives from taking effect.

In Part 3, we will explore how sin and fear can affect our faith and how to overcome them to fully embrace the miraculous power of God.
